Graduate School Option:

You have demonstrated your willingness to serve for the guaranteed right to attend the graduate school of your choosing anywhere in the U.S. after you complete company command or between your sixth and eleventh year of service. It is now time to start thinking about your decision to execute the contract, and when and where you will attend graduate school.

Several documents are listed below for your assistance, they include; Benefits of Graduate School Option which assists you in determining the value of attending graduate school within the Army, Rights and Responsibilities reminding you of your rights and your contractual obligations, Graduate School Timeline which walks you through the steps to secure your seat in the graduate school of your choice and how to discuss and work with your Branch Manager, Copy of Graduate School Contract for reference, DOD Policy on Graduate School Education for Military Officers, and lastly the regulation governing the Army's Active Duty Service Obligations for Education. These documents are to provide guidance you shall need to execute your Graduate School Option. To get started, follow these steps:

  1. Re-read your CSP Graduate School option contract
  2. Prepare to take the required tests (GRE, GMAT etc) understanding that your scores are only good for 5 years

  4. Stay connected with your branch manager to program your projected start date

Branch and Post of Choice:

Thank you for your commitment to the Army. We hope that your decision to extend your active duty service obligation to obtain the branch or post of your choice has amplified your professional experience and increased your career satisfaction.

Your contractual obligation is simple: serve the three-year CSP ADSO consecutively with your commissioning ADSO. Regardless of your commissioning source you will benefit from a PCS to a new unit, work with a new chain of command, serve in a Captain key developmental position, and earn full Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits.

Aviators:
adobe icon Keep in mind that if you are an Aviator with the Branch of Choice option, your three-year commitment runs consecutively with your FLIGHT TRAINING ADSO. Your combined ADSO obligation will end around your tenth year of service.
